Cajun Genealogy |

This page is divided into three sections. It will discuss how to work on Cajun Genealogy in three time periods: the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. The Cajun people claim the Acadians as their namesake, but also contain elements of several nationalities. The foundation of the culture came from Acadia. As they spent time in Louisiana, other nationalities were incorporated. Here is a brief attempt at explaining where to look for information. More information can be found in the book, Acadian-Cajun Genealogy: Step by Step, which is discussed in more detail elsewhere at this site. |
